Job Description Summary

At Avio Aero, a GE Aviation Business unit, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.

Within the Program Management and Customer Support Organization, as AGE (Aerospace Ground Equipment) Specialist you will be located at Customer’s military base.
This role requires permanent presence at Customer’s premises with the primary task of providing direct support on technical and logistic aspects and you will be the reference person and the direct interface between Avio Aero and Customer.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective and timely exchange of AGE technical and logistic information between AvioAero and Customer operational departments.

  • Coordinate the handling of critical and/or urgent material between Company and different operating bases;

  • Provide support to the Customer during International Consortium meetings.

  • Manage the AGE configuration and in-service support (reporting, data analysis, data management, modification changes, repair and calibration)

  • Manage the repair and calibration requests providing adequate liaison with Industries;

  • Identify and record of each item configuration in compliance with customer directives and detect deviations between achieved and planned AGE configuration;

  • Collect and manage the AGE in-service issues and evaluate suitable way-forward;

  • Support in the definition and planning of Retrofit program;

  • Support in evaluating AGE formal modification and obsolescence proposal (Change Proposal);

  • Support in evaluating Technical Instructions issued by Industry and the preparation of Technical Orders in accordance with National Rules.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a high school diploma (technical preferred) with previous solid experience in similar role;

  • Knowledge of configuration control rules, processes and procedures;

  • General knowledge of aero engines, modules, accessories and applicable AGE and of the MRO military environment;

  • Understanding and ability in consulting Nomenclature Catalogues, engine Technical Publications, regulations and applicable procedures (maintenance manuals, parts catalog, calibration procedures);

  • Ability to read and understand Change Proposal, Technical disposition and Repair Schemes/Instruction;

  • Strong Customer mindset;

  • Proficiency in written and spoken Italian and English;

  • Eligible for NATO Security Clearance;

  • Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required.

Desired Characteristics

  • Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications

  • General knowledge of EJ200 engine applicable AGE;

  • Knowledge of bespoke IT systems & tools (SiLEF, SAP, etc)

  • Good oral and written communication skills;

  • Leadership and interpersonal skills;

  • Leading initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
